A social science writer. A singer-songwriter. A Cantonese in Los Angeles.
I am a Ph.D. student in Sociology and a M.S. student in Statistics at University of California, Los Angeles. I am also a graduate student at the California Center for Population Research and the Social Inequality Data Science Lab (SIDS-Lab). I earned an M.A. in Sociology from UCLA in 2022 and a LL.B. in Sociology from Fudan University in 2020.
Being trained as a social demographer, my research focuses on the stratification and mobility of immigrants and other sociodemographic minorities, with a special interest in inequalities in the labor market and higher education. At UCLA, I am fortunate to be mentored by Prof. Jennie Brand and Prof. Andres Villarreal, and work with Distinguished Prof. Min Zhou and Prof. Natasha Quadlin. My work (coauthored with Prof. Andres Villarreal) "Unequal Effects of the COVID-19 Epidemic on Employment: Differences by Race/Ethnicity and Immigrant Status" is published in PLoS ONE. |
